RICHMOND (KRON) — A man who was hit by a car Sunday evening has succumbed to his injuries, according to Richmond Police Department’s Sgt. Nicole Abetkov.

Just after 8 p.m. Sunday, officers got a call about an accident in the 3500 block of Rheem Avenue.

The pedestrian, a 74 year old man, was taken to the hospital with critical injuries to his head.

Early Monday morning, hospital officials told Richmond Police that the man had died from his injuries.

The driver in the accident cooperated with police during their investigation.

Police don’t think that drugs or alcohol were factors in this accident.

Abetkov said it appears the pedestrian, whose name is not yet being released, was walking outside of the crosswalk when he was hit.
