MILPITAS (KRON) — A man was struck by multiple cars and died Sunday evening when they allegedly attempted to cross Interstate Highway 880 in Milpitas.
The pedestrian allegedly ran into the highway’s southbound lanes around 6:05 p.m., just north of state Highway 237, according to the CHP.
A vehicle immediately struck the victim. Two additional vehicles also struck the victim, CHP officials said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP officials closed the highway, as they investigated the incident. The highway was reopened at 10:44 p.m., according to the CHP.
The victim has not yet been identified.
The three drivers involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with the CHP. The drivers were determined to be sober, according to CHP officials.
