Authorities say a pedestrian hit by a commercial vehicle in San Francisco Wednesday morning was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The crash happened just before 7 a.m. at 2nd and Bryant Streets.

Officials said the driver of the commercial vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

There is heavy traffic in the area as authorities continue their investigation; drivers are advised to find alternate routes.
