SAN JOSE (KRON) – 29-year-old Kingsburg man hit and killed by a car Thursday evening in San Jose identified as Tyler Anderson, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office Tuesday.

Anderson, a resident of Kingsburg in Fresno County, was killed when he was struck by a car on the connector ramp from southbound state

Highway 87 to northbound state Highway 85, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver was in a 2007 Porsche vehicle that was on the transition ramp from southbound Highway 87 to northbound Highway 85 and saw Anderson at the center median, CHP Officer Ross Lee said.

It’s unclear why Anderson ran across the lanes as the driver was merging to Highway 85 and was struck by the vehicle, Lee said.

Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Lee.

The driver, a 45-year-old San Jose man, was not injured and cooperated with investigators.
