SUNNYVALE (KRON)— A pedestrian has died after he was hit by a car Saturday morning in Sunnyvale, according to a Department of Public Safety official.

The 60-year-old man was walking near El Camino Real and Cezanne Drive just before 1:30 a.m. when he was struck by the car, public safety Capt. Jeffrey Plecque said.

Police officers and firefighters all responded to the incident, Plecque said.

The man was taken to Stanford hospital and died from his injuries on Sunday.

The driver has cooperated with authorities and is not suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office is not releasing the man’s name until his family is notified.
