SONOMA COUNTY (BCN) — A female passenger was trapped in a pickup truck that overturned on flood-prone Valley Ford Road east of state Highway 1 near Bloomfield in Sonoma County Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The pickup truck overturned around 12:40 p.m. and was submerged in water about 30 feet off the road. The driver got out but a female passenger was trapped, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said.
The woman was able to keep her head above water and was freed and taken by a CHP helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital around 2 p.m., according to the CHP.
