ANTIOCH (BCN) — A parent angry about an alleged assault on her son made a threat to staff members at his school in Antioch Wednesday, prompting a police response that ended with her arrest, police said.

Antioch police said officers were dispatched at 12:33 p.m. to Deer Valley High School at 4700 Lone Tree Way based on reports that a parent “threatened to blow the school up.”

Officers determined that June Kirtman, 41, of Antioch, was upset about an incident regarding her 15-year-old son, police said.

Police said the officers learned that after Kirtman dropped her son off at school he was assaulted nearby, at Antioch Community Center.

When she heard of the incident, Kirtman went to the school’s office and became upset, police said, which led to her alleged threat.

The school’s staff responded by calling parents and informing them of the incident, police said.

Antioch police contacted Kirtman at her residence and arrested her without incident.

No further details were immediately available.
