PALO ALTO (KRON) — Police are looking for a group of thieves accused of making off with $16,000 worth of iPhones from a downtown Palo Alto Apple store.
Investigators say four men walked into the store at 340 University Ave. shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and ripped 22 iPhone 6 devices from the cables that had secured the phones. The men then took off and were last seen running east on University Avenue. No one was hurt.
Officer Sean Downey says the men are described as African-American, in their mid-20s. Downey says they were similarly dressed, all wearing white T-shirts, dark-colored sweat pants and hats. All four are described to be about 6 feet tall with thin builds.
Investigators are asking one with information about the theft to call the Palo Alto Police Department at 650-329-2413. Anonymous tips can be sent by email to paloalto@tipnow.org or by text message or voice mail to 650-383-8984.
