SAUSALITO (BCN) — Two people were arrested Tuesday in Sausalito after allegedly being found in possession of a stolen car and drugs, police said.
Justin Barton, 45, of San Rafael, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Catherine Peacock, 43, also of San Rafael, was cited on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and was released, according to police.
At 12:47 p.m. Tuesday, officers observed a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle recently reported stolen out of San Rafael, police said.
The two occupants, identified as Barton and Peacock, were taken into custody and officers found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia when they searched the vehicle, police said.
A witness had earlier reported seeing a suspect removing the license plate from the vehicle with bolt cutters, according to police.
