(WTNH) – California saw the biggest drug bust from a single, small vessel since 2016.
The U.S. Coast Guard recovered more than 5,000 kilograms of cocaine after engaging a suspect fishing boat in a high-speed chase.
The boat dumped the drugs in the water, which were recovered. However, the boat got away.
This single drug bust is one of four conducted off of the Pacific Coast in Central and South America.
In total, 7,800 kilos of cocaine were seized, which amounts to $260 million in street value.
