SAN FRANCISCO (KRON)—Police arrested a man and seized over 50 firearms after responding to a call of shots fired in one San Francisco neighborhood.

It happened on Laguna and Green streets around 6:50 p.m. on August 29 when witnesses reported their friend was having a mental breakdown and had a gun.

They left the home and said they heard several shots fired from inside.

Officers set up a perimeter outside the home in order to find the suspect.

Police contacted a man who was inside. He was later identified as Jack Dane, 63, and was arrested by police.

Dane was booked into the San Francisco County Jail on several gun charges including shooting in a inhabited dwelling and willfully and negligently discharging a firearm.

Police seized 57 firearms during the course of their investigation including 17 semi-automatic rifles and machine guns and 40 handguns.
