SANTA ROSA (KRON) — A man was arrested Sunday evening after an alleged homicide in Santa Rosa, according to police.
Officers responded to Klute Street around 7:10 p.m. on reports of an assault, police said.
When officers arrived, they found medical personnel on scene conducting life-saving measures on a victim. They were unsuccessful and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation revealed that two people from Oregon were visiting friends when the two became involved in an argument with one another.
Police said the victim threw an orange at the suspect, who then allegedly punched the victim, who fell to the ground and struck his head.

The suspect left the scene before officers arrived but they quickly found him a short distance away. Bruce Lee Eyles, 30, was arrested without incident.
Eyles was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of murder and manslaughter.
