PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A Washington family is asking for help finding their daughter’s lost wheelchair.
Their daughter, who has a muscular condition that prevents her from walking, relies on her wheelchair to get around. She was at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for treatment on July 1.
“We had borrowed (the wheelchair) from a different family that was kind enough to let her use it,” the girl’s mother said. “We were hoping to pass it on when Hannah grew out of it.”
On Friday around 5:30 p.m., a relative was bringing the wheelchair home from OHSU when he realized the tailgate of his truck was down and things had been falling out. The family believes the wheelchair rolled out as well.
“We had to tell it fell out of his truck and she was of course very upset,” the girl’s mother said.
The wheelchair was last seen in the truck in St. Johns near Allegheny Ave and N. Columbia Blvd.
It’s a child’s size, Panthera Micro lightweight manual wheelchair. It’s royal blue and black with a sparkle/sequin seat belt strap.
“We hope we can, with God’s help, find a new situation for her and maybe a new wheelchair,” the girl’s father said.
The family hopes that if someone found the wheelchair, they will contact KOIN 6 News at news@koin.com
