An online threat was sent to California High School in San Ramon, the school said on Wednesday.

Police got an anonymous message posted online threatening California High School on Thursday. No suspect has been identified.

The FBI has traced the IP address to Europe.

Here’s the rest of the statement:

I understand that this will cause concern in our community and I want to reassure you that we are working very closely with police. The safety of our students and staff are a top priority at California High School and the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. If the threat is in any way deemed credible, we will make sure to notify the community right away. Protecting our students and staff takes precedence above all else.

I would like to commend the individual who came forward and was brave enough to report the online post to law enforcement. You can support our efforts to ensure campus safety by continuing to message to our students that “if you see something, or know something, say something.” It is through the sharing of information that we can act and work together to keep our campus safe.

If you have any information to report, please contact San Ramon Police at 925-973-2779 If you have questions, please contact me.

Sincerely,
Sarah  Cranford
Principal
