SANTA CLARA (BCN) — A woman was killed in a crash with a truck just east of Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara this afternoon, a Santa Clara
police lieutenant said.
The fatal crash was reported around 5:45 p.m. at Lick Mill Boulevard and Tasman Drive, Santa Clara police Lt. Dan Moreno said.
The woman, the driver and only person in the car, was found deceased at the scene. The truck driver and his passenger were both taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, according to Moreno.
One of the vehicles is blocking Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority light-rail tracks that go through the intersection, Moreno said.
VTA officials said the accident is affecting the 902 Mountain View-Winchester line between Great America and Baypointe stations.
A bus bridge has been set up between the two stations.
Moreno said the investigation is ongoing and until it wraps up the car will stay on the tracks.
