UPDATE 9:30AM: A 19-year-old Concord woman was killed in a series of crashes on state Highway 4 in Martinez Saturday night, according to the California

Highway Patrol.

The victim crashed her vehicle into the center guardrail on westbound Highway 4, east of Alhambra Avenue just after 8:30 p.m.

She exited the Mazda 3, which had come to rest in the first lane, just before it was hit by a Buick Rivera, according to the CHP.

The impact of that collision caused the Mazda to strike the victim, who was propelled into the second lane of traffic where she was struck again by a Honda Civic, officers said.

All three vehicles struck the center median, and the Buick overturned, according to the CHP.

Details about the victim’s identity were not immediately available.

UPDATE 7:00AM: All lanes of westbound state Highway 4 in Martinez are back open after California Highway Patrol officials had issued a Sig-Alert, closing the highway following a fatal traffic accident Saturday night.

At 8:34 p.m., the CHP received a report of a crash on Highway 4 near the Alhambra Avenue off-ramp, according to CHP officials.

At least three vehicles were involved and one person was killed.

Contra Costa County Fire Protection District officials said one other person suffered moderate injuries and a third suffered minor injuries in the crash.

All lanes of the highway were blocked and the CHP diverted westbound traffic off the highway at Alhambra Avenue, CHP officials said.

The highway reopened at 11:46 p.m.

(BCN) – One person was killed and at least two others were injured in a crash on state Highway 4 in Martinez tonight, according to California Highway Patrol and county fire officials.

The crash was reported at 8:34 p.m. on westbound Highway 4 near the Alhambra Avenue off-ramp.

At least three vehicles were involved and one person was killed.
