CROCKETT (KRON) — At least one person has died in a car crash on eastbound Interstate Highway 80 in Crockett Thursday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred on the highway at the Cummings Skyway onramp around 3:22 a.m., CHP officials said.
CHP has issued a Sig-alert due to the crash. At one point, all eastbound lanes were blocked.
The accident involved a big rig and a car.
The driver of the car was killed in the accident.
CHP said the crash happened because of another major accident that occurred on I-80. Crews had lanes blocked as they cleared the first accident which caused the big rig to collide with the car.
There is no estimated time of when the accident will be cleared.
