One dead after fishing boar capsizes off of Farallon Islands

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — One man died and two others survived when their fishing boat capsized near the Farallon Islands off the coast of San Francisco on Saturday, police said.

San Francisco police said the boat with three people on board capsized roughly 30 miles outside the Golden Gate Bridge neat the Farallon Islands at around 12:20 p.m.


When emergency crews arrived at the scene they found one man deceased, one injured and a third who was uninjured.

The Marin County coroner’s office is handling the autopsy and has not released the victim’s identity.

The two men who survived the capsizing are in their mid 50s and early 60s, police said.

The man in his 60s was transported to Marin General Hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Authorities are investigating what caused the boat to capsize and exactly how the man died.Bay City New contributed to this article
