SAN MATEO COUNTY (BCN) — As part of Bay Area-wide driver safety campaigns over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, a San Mateo County task force is conducting a DUI checkpoint in San Bruno tonight.

The checkpoint is being held west of Seventh Avenue between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. Monday morning.

Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol impairment and checking driver’s licenses.

Other DUI enforcement checkpoints will be held in Santa Clara County throughout the long weekend.

Local patrols will be out tonight checking for drunken or impaired driving in Palo Alto, Mountain View, Gilroy, Santa Clara and Milpitas.

On Saturday two checkpoints were held in Saratoga and Milpitas.

CHP officers are also upping enforcement on freeways and county roads throughout the region.
