WISCONSIN (CNN/WQRF) — There are growing concerns for first responders who are exposed to dangerous drugs after two southeast Wisconsin police officers had to be rushed to the hospital following a routine arrest.
Body camera footage released to the public shows one of the officers going through a woman’s purse and finding crack pipes, along with a white powder that spilled out inside. It was later revealed to be the painkiller Fentanyl.
The officer started feeling sick, and eventually, another did as well. Both had to be treated with the overdose-reversal drug Narcan, but are expected to be OK.
