CONTRA COSTA COUNTY (BCN) — A 6-year-old girl found in a pool in unincorporated Walnut Creek this afternoon was revived with the help of an off-duty police officer and was taken to a hospital, according to a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District official.

The possible drowning was reported at 2:47 p.m. in the 2700 block of Acacia Road after the girl was found in a swimming pool, Fire Inspector Lisa Martinez said.

Arriving units found an off-duty police officer on the scene performing CPR on the girl.

As of shortly before 3 p.m. the girl was reported breathing and was taken to a hospital, but Martinez said she did not know the girl’s current condition.
