OAKLAND (KRON) — The Oakland Raiders are making more moves to become the Las Vegas Raiders, according to ESPN.

ESPN says the team has filed three applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to trademark the phrase “Las Vegas Raiders.”

The trademarks would give the team the exclusive right to use the name for sporting events and on their merchandise.

However, the trademark filing does not guarantee that the Raiders are moving.

Earlier this week, Sen. Harry Reid said he’s a big fan of the efforts to move the team to Las Vegas. He supports the new domed football stadium, however, he does not say whether he thinks taxpayers should help foot the $2 billion bill.

The Raiders currently have a one-year lease to play this season at the O.co Coliseum.
