Police are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man they say shot another man in the back on Foothill Boulevard in Oakland back in October.
Oakland Police say a man was walking home from work when another man shot him several times in the back.
The suspect took off and police are still looking for him.
“Right now it does not look like this was a robbery or anything that went bad it looks much more like a targeted incident and we are just looking for again more cooperation from anybody who was out there at the time of the shooting,” Officer Joel Hight with the Oakland Police Department said.
It is a busy intersection with a lot of businesses and people walking by.
Police hope somebody saw something and comes forward.
They say they have leads but no motive at this time.
“Anybody who saw this shooting and can corroborate statements and video evidence that has been recovered, we are looking to strengthen the case so we can present a strong case to the District Attorney’s office,” Hight said.
Two months have passed and police and the victim’s family are looking for answers.
Police say they are not identifying the victim.
“Due to the suspect still out there and we don’t know if there could be any retaliation,” Hight said. “We just want to make sure we safeguard his identity until it’s safe to disclose his name and information.”
