EMERYVILLE (KRON) — An Oakland man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing another man in a parking lot in Emeryville early Wednesday morning, police said.
An officer was patrolling San Pablo Avenue at about 2:10 a.m. when Charles Shelton stopped him in the middle of the road and reported he was just involved in a fight in the parking lot located at 4349 San Pablo Ave., police said.
The officer found the 58-year-old victim, an Emeryville resident, standing in the parking lot with a stab wound to his left torso, an injury that is not considered life-threatening.
According to statements from witnesses, the victim and Shelton, an argument occurred in which Shelton brandished a knife, charged at the victim and threatened to kill him, then stabbed him, police said.
Shelton was taken to Santa Rita Jail and booked on suspicion of attempted murder.
The knife was recovered at the scene and booked into evidence, according to police.Bay City News contributed to this report.
