The Oakland A’s are welcoming more than 3,000 North Bay residents to the Oakland Coliseum on Sunday as part of North Bay Day.
The team offered fans affected by the 2017 Northern California fires complimentary tickets to the 1:05 p.m. game against the Kansas City Royals.
The day also serves as Firefighter Appreciation Day.
The team will recognize firefighters and first responders prior to the game.
The Oakland Fire Department will serve as the color guard during the pregame ceremony.
Jerry Walters, the father of late Oakland firefighter Jake Walters, and Reece Wisler, a fan affected by the 2017 fires, will each throw out a ceremonial first pitch.
Fans who registered for tickets for North Bay Day can pick them up on the BART Plaza beginning at 11:05 a.m. on Sunday.
Fans are advised to arrive with their guests and have a photo ID ready.
After picking up tickets, fans can enter the ballpark through the LL or MM gates.
Fans arriving after the 1:05 p.m. start time can claim tickets at Will Call.
