OAKLAND (KRON) — Oakland International Airport added some new flight destinations that will start next summer, airport officials announced Tuesday morning.
Southwest Airlines will now fly from Oakland directly to the Reno-Tahoe International Airport in Nevada and to the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport in Missouri starting on June 5, according to airport officials.
This is good news for Bay Area skiers and snowboarders who want to hit the slopes but don’t feel like driving three plus hours.
Flights to Reno-Tahoe will take 50 minutes and run as low as $49, while tickets to St. Louis for a flight lasting three hours and 40 minutes will start at $149, airport officials said.
Leadership from Oakland International Airport and Southwest joined together at an airport departure gate to make the announcement Tuesday.
