NEW YORK (KRON) — Due to a technical issue, trading halted on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange Wednesday morning, according to Wall Street officials.
According to officials, the NYSE has no-reopened.
A connectivity issue with other markets, including the sliding market in China seem to be a factor in what caused the glitch. The market initially dropped 194 points when the glitch was first realized.
The halt occurred at about 11:30 a.m. Eastern time Wednesday.
The exchange said in a statement that it was experiencing a “technical issue” that it was working to resolve as quickly as possible.
Before trading was halted, U.S. indexes were lower as investors worried about China’s ability to stem a stock market slide.
