NOVATO (KRON)—The Novato Police Department recovered five bikes and 33 bike frames when they responded to a call last week.
Officers arrested a man for an alleged drug offense and took the bikes and frames to investigate further, said police Lt. Mike Howard.
The department posted photos on its Facebook page hoping to find out who owns them.
Anyone who knows anything about the bikes is asked to call Detective Mike Wacholz at (415)897-4361.
Hundreds of bikes are stolen every year in Marin County, but fewer than five percent are found, police said.
The city of Novato is part of the National Bike Registry which helps return stolen bikes to its owners. You can visit www.nationalbikeregistry.com to find out more.
