NOVATO (KRON) — Novato police have arrested a 19-year-old man accused of assault with a deadly weapon and robbery.

Police said at around 1:54 p.m. on Saturday, they got a call about a person who had been stabbed at a bus stop near Nave Drive and Main Gate Road.

When officers arrived, they said they found several minors with injuries. One of them had been cut several times with a knife, police said.

Investigators determined the altercation started as an attempt to take marijuana from one of the people.

Police arrested Edwin Galvez, of Novato, for allegedly stabbing the juvenile.

Galvez will be booked into Marin County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, police said.

The minor stabbed was cited and released for robbery, police said.

Three people, including Galvez, were taken to the hospital.

None of the injuries are thought to be life-threatening.
