NOVATO (KRON) — A manhunt is underway for a third suspect wanted in connection to a deadly double shooting that killed a high school student in Novato.

Two suspects were arrested Thursday after police conducted high-risk tactical raids in Novato, Marin County sheriff’s officials said.

Officials confirm that all suspects and victims in this case are students of Novato High School.

Sheriff’s officials announced at around 2:12 p.m. about a raid in the area of Rowland and South Novato boulevards.

Shortly after arriving at the home, a male walked out of the home and was taken into custody. Authorities said that the person, a 17-year-old boy, is being detained in connection with Wednesday’s murder.

Police then conducted a second tactical operation on Leafwood Drive. A second suspect was detained.

Investigators believe the Novato High School student was murdered by three other teenagers. One suspect is still on the loose.

A young woman who lives in the Leafwood complex said the suspect arrested is a Novato High School student.

“I just saw him coming down the stairs with his hands in the air. I’m shocked. He seemed like a good kid. I didn’t know he did anything wrong,” Karen Ochoa said.

Novato police had been searching for the three suspects wanted for a deadly double shooting that killed a Novato High School student and injured another Wednesday night.

The suspects were described as three Hispanic males, based on information from the first victim, according to police.

The victim that was taken to the hospital is still in the hospital recovering from his injuries Thursday morning.
