HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) – Earlier this year, 4 Auburn players were arrested for misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Defensive end Byron Cowart, defensive back Carlton Davis, defensive back Jeremiah Dinson and wide receiver Ryan Davis were arrested and released on the same day on $500 bond.

Monday at SEC Media Days, Coach Gus Malzahn said there would be no suspension for any other the players. He said they handled it internally and all four players have already been punished by the coaching staff. He wouldn’t go into specifics about the punishment.

Those four made a mistake, we punished them,” says Malzahn. “They are fine young men, we won’t have any more issues with them. It is the first time anything had happened to them and that is the reason I made that decision.”
