NEWARK (KRON) — A 35-year-old murder suspect is on the loose on Tuesday night in the East Bay, police said.

Newark police are looking for Rizueno Ramirez Cruz. They said he is wanted for a deadly shooting on Sunday.

Cruz allegedly fatally shot another man during a confrontation in the backyard of a Newark home Sunday evening at around 5:12 p.m on the 6300 block of Zulmida Avenue.

A 911 caller said two males had gotten into a confrontation in the backyard of a home. During the exchange, one of the men shot the other and then fled the area, police said.

The victim was found in the backyard of a home. Investigators said there was some sort of confrontation before the shooting.

After investigating the case, officers were able to identify the suspect as Rizueno Ramirez Cruz, who also goes by the name Jorge Diaz Aguilar.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and 170 pounds, with a medium build. Police said he has black hair and brown eyes.

The victim’s name has not been released.
