KRON—New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio posted a public service announcement online about sexual violence prevention Wednesday night in light of the Stanford rape case.

de Blasio’s wife Cynthia McCray and other well-known figures read the rape victim’s 12-page letter live on the mayor’s Facebook page.

McCray said they made the video because everyone needs to hear the victim’s story.
