Ski resorts around Lake Tahoe saw impressive snow totals this week and another storm is expected to hit the region Friday night.
Pete Mann with CHP Truckee says if you’re headed to Tahoe for the weekend, pack your patience.
As of Friday morning, there are still chain controls in place on all the major highways and byways.
Mann says on Interstate 80, there are chain controls in effect for about seven miles from Kingvale to Donner Lake Road.
Even thought the region is seeing a brief break from storm conditions, Mann warns that the roads are still frozen from the overnight temperatures.
The next storm is expected to hit the region late Friday night into Saturday morning.
This storm will be colder and will allow for snow accumulation down in the lower valley floors.
A winter storm warning will remain in effect until 10 p.m. Saturday.
