Thursday marks the first day of a new weekday commuter ferry service between Richmond and San Francisco.
A special ribbon cutting ceremony will take place today starting at 1:30 p.m.
There will also be free rides open to the public.
The official start of the ferry service connecting Richmond to the Ferry Building downtown begins today at 6:10 a.m.
