FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ (WCMH) – A 92-year-old woman is accused of killing her son during an argument about going to an assisted living facility.
It happened July 2 at a home in Fountain Hills, Arizona.

According to investigators, 92-year-old Anna Mae Blessing had been contemplating for several days her son’s intentions to place her in an assisted living facility. Blessing then got two pistols and concealed them in the pockets of her robe. Deputies say she then confronted her son in his bedroom.
During the confrontation, Blessing told investigators she fired several shots at her son, killing him. She then pointed the gun at her son’s girlfriend, and the two struggled over the weapon, and it was dislodged from her hand.

The girlfriend then called the sheriff’s office.
Blessing was charged with one count of murder in the first degree, one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of kidnapping.
