Two quick-thinking cops are being hailed as heroes after they sprang into action to save a choking toddler.

According to the Palm Beach Post, Officer Robert Ayala and Officer Rafael Guadelupe were on a lunch break at the food court at The Gardens Mall when they noticed a frantic mom who was trying to stop her 14-month-old daughter Lucia from choking on a chicken nugget.

The officers immediately rushed to the mother’s aid, performed the Heimlich maneuver on the girl and helped her dislodge the piece of food.

The girl’s mother, Ana Jaramillo de Graham, wrote a letter to the department to thank the officers.

There are not enough words to express my immense gratitude. You saved my daughter’s life today and I will be forever grateful. You were quick to assess the situation and proceeded to do exactly what my daughter Lucia needed to do to pass the chicken lodged in her throat. God knew you were right next to us to help us. You also provided so much support and kindness when the issue was resolved. Thank you for being such a great person.
