Columbo, a 5-month old Great Dane mix puppy, has gone through quite the ordeal, and the little pup’s story is being shared with the world!
Don’t worry — it has a very happy ending.
According to a Facebook post, Columbo was found injured right outside downtown Columbus when a cyclist named Jarrett noticed Columbo couldn’t walk.
Jarrett picked him up and placed him on his back as Jarrett pedaled into town.
“Normally I would’ve loved the walk, but my left hind leg was broken and a toe on my right front was also broke,” the Facebook post read.
Once the pair got into town, Columbo met his future mom — Andrea Shaw.
“I bled on her new shirt. She must’ve liked it though because that’s when she called her husband and said ‘I’m saving this dog — he’s bleeding and broken and I’m not leaving him.’ Her hubby — Joel Shaw — replied ‘Ok. Is your hotel pet-friendly?”
Columbo underwent surgery but all is well for the pup, who’s now calling Maine his new home.
