Long, sunny weekends are popular times for folks to get out of town, but sticking around
has its perks.
Travel enthusiast Dana Rebmann told KRON 4’s Marty Gonzalez that you can’t miss a beat when it comes to great music in the Bay Area.
BottleRock is the biggie happening this weekend. When it first started in 2013, no one was really sure what to think.. now all everybody thinks about is how to get a ticket. It’s a sold out event.
Happening right in the heart of downtown Napa, this year’s lineup doesn’t disappoint.
Earth, Wind & Fire, and The Chainsmokers, got everyone’s attention on opening day.
Bruno Mars is set to play tonight.
Then there’s the likes of Billy Idol, Snoop Dogg and Muse. There’s a little something for everyone.
Dana says BottleRock seems to be hitting its stride in so many different aspects.
The Love sign is as popular as ever, but it’s sharing the grounds with other fun sculpture art as well.
There’s the silent disco where folks watching the dancers always seem to be having just as much fun as the folks who are dancing.
BottleRock’s center is the Williams Sonoma Culinary stage.
It pairs star chefs with celebrities cooking up combinations on Friday like Duff Goldman
from Food Network, and three time Olympic Gold Medalist Shaun White.
The theme was snow-like desserts. They made cotton candy and then it went airborne, and it snowed cotton candy. It was everywhere and the crowd loved it.
You can also get your music fix next weekend.. or any weekend for that matter in downtown Napa thanks to an assortment of other great venues.
Blue Note Napa is located on the first floor of the historic 19th century Napa Valley Opera House. It’s a 150 seat jazz club with a fun wine country twist.
Another small venue.. just a few blocks away is The Uptown Theatre. It has just 857 seats. It opened
in 1937, it has seen vaudeville and movie screens.
Silo’s Night Club at the Napa River Inn is another popular spot for local live music in downtown Napa. An even smaller venue, it seats about 125.
There’s plenty of free parking outside the main entrance, and there’s a garage across the street.
