The Mendocino Complex fires continue to grow Sunday, having scorched a combined 254,982 acres.
The twin wildfires are 33 percent contained.
So far 68 homes have been destroyed and more than 15,000 structures remain threatened.
Officials say on Saturday night crews were able to successfully increase containment on the River Fire, while the Ranch Fire continues to grow in a southeast direction.
According to Cal Fire, no injuries or fatalities have been reported.
California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection officials said that fire was started two weeks ago by sparks from the steel wheel of a towed-trailer’s flat tire.
