What started as fun and games turned into a real-life horror story after a man was stabbed at a haunted house.

It happened Friday at Nashville Nightmare in Madison, Tennessee.

James Yochim says a thin man wearing skull makeup approached his friend, Tawnya Greenfield, according to Buzzfeed.

The two thought the man was an actor.

The unknown man then asked Yochim if he was “f—ing around with her.”

Greenfield jokingly said yes and was handed a knife by the man, who told her to “stab him.”

“Keep in mind, we’d been chased by chainsaws, holding other weapons, all kinds of stuff all night, and it was all fake,” Yochim told the Nashville Tennessean. “So she stabs at me with it, and everything got really black.”

The very real knife went through Yochim’s forearm; it did not hit any major arteries or bones.

“His arm was gushing blood like something out of a horror scene,” Greenfield told WZTV.

Yochim says the man apologized and said “I didn’t know my knife was that sharp.”

Yochim says all visitors were required to go through metal detectors and no weapons were allowed inside.

In a statement, the organizers of Nashville Nightmare said an employee believed to have been involved was placed on leave.

No suspect has been identified and no charges have been filed.
