Your Facebook messages might not be as private as you thought. 

The company confirms automated tools are used to make sure chats don’t contain malware links or child pornography. 

Moderators are used to review messages flagged by both users and the automated system.

In a statement, a Facebook spokesperson says the company does not listen to voice or video calls.

But the data policy updated Wednesday states the social media giant does collect content and information communicated by users through posts and messages.
