Imagine coming home to what you think is an empty house only to find a mountain lion taking a nap behind your couch?
A woman named Lauren Taylor said the large cat was drinking from her home’s large pond. The back door was open, Taylor said in a Facebook post, and the cougar entered a room with “huge plants and stairs built around real tree branches,” so she likely didn’t even realize she was walking indoors until was inside.
Taylor added that the mountain lion became frightened after someone screamed and tried, unsuccessfully, to escape through a closed window.
That’s when the animal took cover behind the sofa in Taylor’s living room.
The mountain lion ended up cuddling up with a pillow on the sofa, and taking a long nap.
The 6-hour ordeal ended peacefully, Taylor said, because of positive energy.
