NAPA (KRON) — A Napa elementary school special education assistant was arrested Tuesday after methamphetamine was allegedly found in her car on campus, according to authorities.
The Napa Special Investigations Bureau arrested Ellen Maestas, 57, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine at Irene Snow Elementary School in the 1100 block of Foster Road.
The arrest came after narcotics investigators found a quarter-ounce of the drug in her rental car at the school, Lt. Gary Pitkin said.
Maestas’ boyfriend, Edward Hicks, and son, Leroy Maestas, were also arrested.
American Canyon police arrested the Hicks, 35 of Vallejo, on April 12 on suspicion of 11 drug and weapon felonies during a traffic stop last week, Pitkin said.
Leroy Maestas, 34, also was arrested April 12 on suspicion of possession of heroin for sale, child endangerment and being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested at Hicks’ home on Marin Street in Vallejo.
NSIB agents confiscated heroin, a loaded rifle and a shotgun from the residence.
Two children in the home were taken into protective custody, according to Pitkin.
Maestas was booked into Napa County Jail on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine for sale.’Bay City News Service contributed to this report
