SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A local music legend is calling out the NFL for its Super Bowl Halftime Show decisions.

Famous guitarist Carlos Santana, who has ties to the North Bay, wrote to the NFL and CBS:

Dear NFL/CBS….I would like to take this opportunity to thank you both for including me as a part of your Super Bowl…Posted by Carlos Santana on Tuesday, February 9, 2016

Santana said the Bay Area acts would have brought “real live music” to halftime.

It is worth noting that Santana did briefly appear in a halftime show video tribute, and Metallica played at AT&T Park Saturday night, jokingly referencing their halftime snub and touting the hashtag #tooheavyforhalftime.

Coldplay from the UK, Beyonce from Texas, and Bruno Mars from Hawaii supplied the halftime entertainment at Levi’s Stadium.
