Maria Hsiao was tragically killed 17 years ago today.
The Palo Alto Police Department on Sunday shared a video describing what happened on that summer night nearly two decades ago.

Hsiao, then 21-years-old, was shot in the head outside a downtown nightclub on June 10, 2001.
Hsiao, a student at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, died at the scene.
Her case remains unsolved.
