SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (AP) – A purse found on a Northern California man helped link him to what police are calling a “Mrs. Doubtfire” robbery.

Brandon Alfred Calantoc is in custody in connection with the April 3 robbery of a US Bank branch in Santa Cruz. Authorities say the robber was a man wearing a wig and carrying a purse.

Carmel police arrested Calantoc on Monday in connection with vehicle robberies there. The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports police noticed a purse and other items in the man’s car seemed to match those in the bank robbery. Authorities have dubbed the heist a “Mrs. Doubtfire” robbery after the Robin Williams movie.

Calantoc is being held in lieu of $600,000 bail. Sheriff’s officers did not immediately return a call Thursday seeking information on his legal representative.
