SAN MATEO (KRON) — A 45-year-old motorcyclist from Mountain View has died after a collision in San Mateo this afternoon, according to the California Highway

Patrol.

The first report of the collision came in at 4:10 p.m. on northbound U.S. Highway 101 just south of East Hillsdale Boulevard.

A preliminary report by the CHP said the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on a 2004 Suzuki when a 2006 Honda, also traveling northbound, struck the Suzuki on its left side.

The motorcyclist lost control of the Suzuki, was ejected from the cycle and came to rest on an East Hillsdale Boulevard offramp.

According to the CHP, Paramedics took the motorcyclist to Stanford Hospital with major injuries and emergency room staff pronounced him dead.

Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be involved in the collision.
