VALLEJO (BCN) — A motorcyclist was critically injured in a collision with a pickup truck Friday afternoon in Vallejo, according to police.
Officers responded to the intersection of Cherry and Sheridan streets at 2:34 p.m. on report of a crash.
Investigators found that the driver of a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle heading south had failed to stop at a stop sign before colliding with a 2011 Toyota pickup truck in the intersection.
The motorcyclist, identified only as a 20-year-old man from American Canyon, was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Investigators also determined that he was operating the motorcycle on a suspended driver’s license – and he does not have a motorcycle endorsement, according to police.
The driver of the Toyota, a 51-year-old man from Vallejo, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Drugs and alcohol are not thought to have been factors in the collision.
