VACAVILLE (BCN) — A Vacaville woman was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of abuse of her 5-month-old child that left the baby with a fractured skull, police said today.
Police found the child when they responded to the Super 8 Motel at 101 Allison Court, where the baby was having a seizure.
The baby was taken to University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento and placed in intensive care.
Hospital staff told police the baby was a suspected victim of child abuse. The baby had additional injuries indicating abuse, police said.
Police went back to the motel room where the family was staying and served a search warrant. They obtained an arrest warrant for the child’s mother, identified as Patricia Steve, and arrested her in Sacramento.
Steve was booked into jail without bail, police said.
Anyone with information about the case has been asked to contact Vacaville police.
